Nancy aims to blend the healing qualities of living a creative life with feng shui and its healing benefits, making the most of the environement in which we live, and incorporating yoga to care for the bodies in which we live.
As a child raised in an environment of physicians Nancy has found ways to meld her own path, using design with her family’s influence of healing. Nancy incorporates the practice of Feng Shui- intuitive conscious design which relies on the principles of nature- into her design methods. Since 2002 Wind Water Design has evolved a philosophy on the importance of conscious design in regards to how our spaces affect us. Experience a Fusion of Intuitive Design and Function.
"Feng Shui can be an amazing practice that allows one to examine their inner reality through their outer world. In working with her clients, Nancy explains that we create our own world, inside and out and that the landscape of our environment has a direct affect on our moods, health, direction, goal fulfillment, and general ability to enjoy life."
Nancy receives her inspiration from design and feng shui philosophy, working closely with people to support their dreams and lifestyles, and creating and designing unique and beautiful spaces to nurture the spirit. Nancy hopes to awaken the awareness of higher standards in others, as they become inspired to take a look at their surroundings and ask whether they are nurtured and supported and make the changes that will do so. For Nancy the most rewarding experiences in working with clients is the defining moment when a client feels empowered by the creation of a design that embodies their true goals.
"Working with Daytona Yoga in Daytona Beach, and with Krista and Ron directly has been an enlightening experience. In designing a Total Wellness Center we reach out to provide a beautiful, relaxing space for community and healing. Come see what this space has to offer, I know you'll feel at much at home here as I do!"
Morris Sullivan
Sensei Morris Sekiyo Sullivan is the dharma teacher for Volusia Buddhist Fellowship who trained with the Bright Dawn Institute for American Buddhism, a non-sectarian tradition based on Japanese Mahayana Buddhism and studied Vipassana meditation in the Thai tradition.
A freelance writer and former features writer for the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Sekiyo-Sensei is wrapping up work on several books, including Wisdom; Compassion; Serenity, a guide to Buddhist practice and Making Merit, a look at Buddhist practice drawn from insights gained while touring Thailand with a high-ranking Theravada monk. He speaks regularly at Unitarian Churches and to other groups about applying Buddhist practice to everyday life.
Like many of his generation, Sekiyo became interested in Eastern religion during the late 1960s while entering his teens and living in Texas. He began reading about Zen Buddhism while studying social sciences at a community college in Central Florida. His first formal practice came in the early 1990s, when a Unitarian pastor in Orlando started a meditation group along the lines of Thich Nhat Hanh’s Order of Interbeing tradition.
Along the way, he also explored Tibetan practices like Tonglen and Lojong, and while coordinating meetings with a recovery group that used Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) as an alternative to 12-Step self-support, he became fascinated with the similarities between Albert Ellis’ theories about psychology and the Buddha’s explanations of dukkha and its cause.
In 2005, Sekiyo was asked to assume leadership of Volusia Buddhist Fellowship. At the time, he was studying Vipassana meditation with the abbot of Wat Florida Dhammaram, even spending a brief period on monastic retreat as a monk in the Thai Dhammayut order. He also started working with a group of Buddhist inmates at Tomoka Correctional Institution, where he and a monk from Brevard Zen Center co-lead weekly meetings and semiannual in-prison Zazenkai (day of practice) mini-retreats.
In 2010, Sekiyo completed the Bright Dawn Institute for American Buddhism program and was inducted into the Bright Dawn lay (non-monastic) ministry.
